About Hunter
With a lifelong dedication to music, I have been composing since I was 14 and have honed my craft through years of experience. Over the past decade, I have played saxophone and flute, immersing myself in various musical genres. My background includes writing, recording, producing, and mixing music for ad agencies and sound design, showcasing a broad skill set. I hold a bachelor's degree in composition and saxophone performance from the Los Angeles College of Music, where I developed a solid foundation in both practical and theoretical aspects of music.
In addition to my professional work, I lead my own artist project, OVERDREAMING, where I manage all aspects of music creation—songwriting, audio engineering, mixing, composition, and music production. This comprehensive experience not only reflects my commitment to music but also my ability to deliver high-quality, professional instruction. You can be confident that my background and expertise will provide you with a thorough and engaging learning experience.

The way I teach is interest based, I want to know what my students goals are and what areas of the subjects I teach will lead them to accomplish their goals or to bring them to new horizons.
I teach all levels, starting with basic intervals and reading to Triple poly chords and the teachings of Vincent Persichetti.
I am very patient and understanding teacher. I want to meet every student where they are at and truly provide a functioning knowledge of music.
A typical lesson plan would be for a beginner:
Week 1: Learn musical notation basics, including the staff and note values.
Week 2: Explore rhythms and time signatures.
Week 3: Study major/minor scales and key signatures.
Week 4: Understand and identify musical intervals.
Week 5: Learn about chord structures and basic harmony.
Week 6: Examine chord progressions and harmonic functions.
Week 7: Discover cadences and musical phrasing.
Week 8: Study advanced rhythms, including compound meters and syncopation.
Week 9: Introduce and use modal scales.
Week 10: Analyze basic musical forms and song structure.
Week 11: Learn counterpoint and musical textures.
Week 12: Review concepts and apply them in a final project.
That being said, I much prefer tailoring the experience to the individual student and following their preferred path.
