About Aaron

I have taught meditation for over 4 years for a variety of people in both a 1:1 and group setting. I am very passionate about the need for mindfulness and meditation practice in our current world, and it is my joy to share that with others so they may discover a deeper sense of peace and fulfilment in themselves.

In my opinion, a simple spiritual practice such as meditation has the power to not only transform us as individuals but can change the entire world itself for the better.

My sessions are completely adaptable depending on the needs, goals and capacity of the student. The different structures of sessions I offer are as follows:

Beginner Students: -

Meditation Crash Course - Students looking to begin a meditation practice will have the sessions revolve around cultivating a fundamental and holistic understanding of the theory and practice of mindfulness meditation. The goal of these sessions is to develop the students' understanding to a point where they can practise meditation by themselves and feel confident in their basic practice and understanding (This usually takes anywhere from 4-8 sessions). Some students may want to have an ongoing mentoring relationship for longer periods of time which is also offered.

Novice Students: -

Vedanta Study - Students with a relatively well-grasped understanding in the basics of meditation and spiritual practice can explore the teachings of Vedanta with me. These sessions are more abstract and subtle in their understanding and are therefore beneficial for the student to have previous meditation experience but is not completely necessary. Vedanta is a systematic body of understanding leading to self-knowledge, a realisation of our true nature as unconditionally happy and inherently free as we already are. I have studied this myself for many years and am capable of assisting students in beginning a more serious spiritual practice / inquiry to lead to a deeper sense of lasting happiness. Both of these options can be done independently or combined, depending on the desire of the student and their capacity for understanding.

Inner child work - I offer sessions to help students cultivate a relationship with their inner child through meditation so they can unveil and heal their unconscious wounds that govern many behaviours in life. 

Experienced students (Has been on the path for many years) -  A holistic approach to meditation that brings together various psychological frameworks and meditative traditions. It is an open exploration of truth together where I am fundamentally offering a space for your truth to be explored along with the addressing of misconceptions and difficulties that arise on the path, with a focus on ensuring spiritual bypassing is being avoided. This is a bringing together of our divinity and our humanity. These sessions are very organic and vary greatly each time. I am happy to discuss this more if you wish.

  • How long have you been interested in the field of well-being and are you practicing?

    I have been interested in well-being for over 6 years, with my interest focusing around the practice of meditation and spiritual practices for over 4 years.

    I practice and formally study various spiritual traditions and methods of meditation every day for 2 hours.
  • Tell us what your discipline can bring to people's lives.

    Meditation is accessible to all, and can bring reduced stress, greater peace and clarity. It offers a whole new context for our lives where we can relate to others and ourselves through love and compassion if we are willing to open up to the fruits of disciplined meditation practice.
  • Could you provide some instant top tips to help us feel good in body and mind?

    Take a few deep breaths. Listen to the sounds that are currently available to you and feel the aliveness of these sounds. Do this with all of your sensory experience that you have available, slowly appreciating the quality of aliveness that is present there, remain with that.

    This helps us take a step back from the over-analysing mind and egoic sense of self, allowing us to connect with the reality of the present moment where the mind is more quiet, thus allowing us to feel the aliveness of our experience.
  • How would you describe your method as a practitioner?

    I focus on simultaneously cultivating both a practical and theoretical understanding of meditation practice. This is because if we only learn one aspect of these two facets of practice, then we become lop-sided. Both are crucial for an integrated practice of meditation that enables maximum benefit.
  • With experience, are there things you have learned or unlearned about yourself or others?

    I would answer this with a quote from the Buddha:

    Buddha was asked: "What have you gained from Meditation?" He replied: "Nothing." "However", Buddha said, "let me tell you what I lost : Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Insecurity, Fear of Old, Age and Death."
  • Do you have a role model, a person who really inspired you?

    I do not have one particular person who I aspire to be like, simply because I enjoy being myself more than I would being anyone else.

    However, certain individuals I believe are very inspiring to humanity are excellent teachers of a spiritual life dedicated to the service of humanity such as Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King.
  • How do you personally relax; what methods work for you?

    Things that are relaxing for me other than meditation are yoga and reading, with rock climbing also being a way for me to have my own downtime.
  • Tell us about a memorable lesson

    With one student who was also a close friend, we had done many sessions together and eventually had a breakthrough in understanding that was very important.

    This resulted in us both laughing for a long time with joy together. It allowed me to realise that what makes me the happiest in teaching is to see someone else discovering the natural joy and freedom that is within them; it is all I do this work for.

    There is nothing greater than happiness, happiness is all that one needs in life. This happiness is not something far away but is rather closer than we could ever imagine.
