About Emma
I am currently studying a Master of Philosophy in Social Sciences (specialising in International Relations) at UNSW. I previously completed a Bachelor of International Relations at ANU, with a Distinction WAM.
I have four years professional experience as a recruitment scribe contracting to Government departments, and have attended hundred of APS interviews. I have also completed shortlisting of applicants and referee reports, and have a comprehensive understanding of the application process form start to finish.
In addition to my Undergraduate and professional qualifications, I also published an academic article during my Undergraduate degree, and participated in the peer-review of journal articles for the ANU Undergraduate Research Journal in 2020. I have also volunteered (and continue to volunteer) in leadership positions for my university, and was previously an RA equivalent for ANU's non-residential hall.
I have experience working not just academically, but also professionally and in university communities for the past six years. I strongly believe in commitment to my studies, work and people around me, and try to bring this to my teaching where possible.

Hello! My name is Emma and I am a Research Masters student currently studying a Master of Philosophy in Social Sciences at UNSW. I previously studied a Bachelor of International Relations, with a major in Global Security from ANU with a Distinction WAM.
I have previous experience working as a tutor, and proof-reading and writing experience since 2017. I have also been working as a recruitment Scribe for four years.
International Relations: I provide general and subject-specific lessons for International Relations courses at the undergraduate level. Specifically, I cover general IR theory, history, security studies, European studies, Pacific studies, climate change policy and international organisations.
I cater my teaching content and style to each student, and adapt my focus accordingly. I understand that every student requires a different approach and will want different outcomes, and I generally use the first lesson to understand these. I teach visually and verbally, and where possible I try to provide answers in a format which suit the individual.
English, History, proof-reading: I provide general tutoring in English at the HSC level, History tutoring at the undergraduate level and proof-reading at HSC and undergraduate. I also provide general writing lessons on how to approach essays, and how to improve your structured writing.
I typically provide 1 hour lessons with the option of a 2 hour lesson after the initial meeting. I am available for online classes, as well as in person meetings on UNSW Kensington campus.
