About Amy
Hello! I am a graduate award-winning violinist and teacher based in West Hampstead, London. After completing my master's degree in Music and Music Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, I have taken part in performances as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician across Europe and have 8 years of experience in teaching beginners to advanced level students from ages 5 and upwards. I have studied with professors including Itzakh Rashkovsky, Jaqueline Ross and Bartosz Woroch, and am well versed in violin pedagogical techniques. Ensembles I have performed and rehearsed alongside include the English National Ballet Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. I also am a violin teacher at the Preston Manor Music Academy and St Partick's Catholic Primary School. Currently I hold positions in a freelance capacity with Fidelio Orchestra, London City Philharmonic and Pegasus Opera Company. Please see my CV below for more information or send me a message if you'd like to arrange a consultation lesson.

I am a patient and friendly tutor always seeking out ways to make every lesson informative and enjoyable in order to nurture a positive relationship between the student and the violin. Lessons will take place in my home in West Hampstead or online and may vary from 30 - 90 minutes depending on the individual's preferences. Everyone learns in different ways and at different rates and may have different objectives when it comes to playing the violin, because of this I provide personalised lesson plans to fit the goals and commitments of each individual. Previous students have successfully undertaken ABRSM exams - if this is something you may be interested in do let me know as I am happy to facilitate that in our lessons!

Perfect! Amy is such a nice and talented violin tutor. We really appreciate that she can design a learning plan which best suits the student. My daughter gave a try learning violion a couple of years ago but gave up because she found herself not so interested. But this time she clearly has the interest and is getting very nice progress. 5 stars tutor.
- Amy's response :
Perfect! Amy is disciplined, methodical, professional, punctual, and hardworking. She takes pride in her work and aspires to be the best at it. My lessons with her were structured to first fix the foundational issues of my playing before attempting more complex work. Amy also has unmatched hearing ability. I was often impressed by how quickly she could pick up even the slightest intonation mistakes and guide me in correcting them.
On occasions when I wasn’t as attentive, she remained patient, reiterating concepts until I fully understood them. If you take learning the violin seriously, look no further than Amy. Show up consistently, be professional, pay attention, practice, work hard and she will do her best by you.- Amy's response :
Perfect! Amy is a great violin teacher. My son has learned so much from her and his playing has improved a lot in a short time. She is patient and explains things clearly. He always looks forward to his lessons. We really appreciate her teaching and support!
- Amy's response :

As far as violin tutors go, Amy is the best you can get. Highly knowledgeable and experienced, yet also kind and patient, Amy has been extremely helpful in boosting my confidence and skill at playing the violin - I couldn’t have asked for a better tutor.
’d recommend her to anyone, especially those seeking to improve their violin playing in a supportive and encouraging environment.Brilliant tutor. Amy has been teaching me violin for a year and has been immensely kind and patient. Impressive level of knowledge. Would definitely recommend!
After a few years break from the violin I thought I’d never get myself back to the stage I used to perform at as I’d forgotten so much, but with Amy’s guidance, motivating approach and inspiring levels of talent and knowledge I found myself playing at a standard I didn’t believe I’d ever get to. I used to think of practice as a chore but it’s now a major highlight in my day! Amy is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
Amy is an excellent tutor, very patient and kind! I love going to lessons with her, she makes them fun and I can see the improvement in my playing after just a short time. 5 stars :-)
Not only is Amy a fantastic violinist, but she is also a lovely and kind person. She is immensely talented, and an all round pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!!
Amy tutored my daughter for a year. B had been learning for a year and Amy was so lovely about assessing where she was at and what B needed to make progress. Amy was always so encouraging, gave sensible goals for my then 11y old daughter to work on during the week and set a good mix of music/tunes and technique and scales for B to work on. Amy was also always willing to play things again and again for B to grasp a new tune... this was huge as B mainly plays by ear. Amy is really missed since she moved south. B would love to be able to continue being tutored by Amy, if only it were practical. I am more than happy to be able to give this recommendation as Amy made a big impact on my daughter at a time when B was finding dealing with new people difficult. B took to Amy straight away due to her gentle (but no nonsense!!), open, honest and friendly approach.
