If you want to learn Arabic and or Moroccan Darija and you’re a beginner, you are in the right place!

I will start with you from the very basics. The methodology will be strongly interactive, with classes being based on practical situations of daily life. The target will be to improve the four main skills (listening, reading, talking, writing). We will also develop awareness of grammar every time it is needed without forgetting the culture, tradition, and all about the country if you are going to visit it someday—all that in one package that you will never find somewhere else, so don't think too much. Hurry up and book your classes today! See you in class.

  • Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak this language because my origins are Arabic and specifically Moroccan
  • Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

One emblematic figure who represents the culture of Arabic and Moroccan Darija is Hassan II, the former King of Morocco. His reign from 1961 to 1999 was marked by significant political and cultural developments that shaped modern Morocco. Hassan II was known for his efforts to modernize the country while preserving its rich cultural heritage, including the promotion of Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and the integration of Amazigh (Berber) culture
  • Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

One phrase in Moroccan Darija that I find particularly charming is "Bssaha" (بصحة), which translates to "to your health" or "cheers." It's commonly used when someone is enjoying a meal or drink, and it reflects the warm, communal spirit of Moroccan culture. A tradition that stands out is the Moroccan tea ceremony. Serving and drinking mint tea, known as "atay" (أتاي), is a significant social ritual. The process of preparing and pouring the tea, often from a height to create a frothy top, is an art form in itself and symbolizes hospitality and friendship.
  • Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Learning Moroccan Darija can be challenging for several reasons: Pronunciation and Phonetics: Moroccan Darija has unique sounds and pronunciations that can be difficult for non-native speakers. The guttural sounds and the way certain letters are pronounced can be quite different from Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and other dialects. Vocabulary and Expressions: Darija incorporates a mix of Arabic, Berber, French, and Spanish words, which can be confusing for learners. The vocabulary and idiomatic expressions are often unique to the region. But don't worry I'm here to help you in that Engaging in language exchange with native speakers, either in person or through online platforms, can provide practical speaking and listening practice.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

In Morocco, students grow up learning multiple languages: Arabic (Classical and Darija), French, and often English or Berber (Tamazight). One of the most striking things about language education there is how deeply the languages are connected to the culture and daily life.
  • How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Travel provides a powerful learning boost. It pushes learners to apply what they know, adapt to different dialects and slang, and expand their language skills in ways that are difficult to achieve in formal learning environments alone. It's not just about learning words it's about understanding the rhythm, flow, and cultural nuances of communication.
  • What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof in language is my deep expertise, gained through years of teaching and formal education, which allows me to provide personalized lessons tailored to each student's needs and goals. I focus on clear communication and breaking down complex concepts to make learning easier and more enjoyable. Additionally, my passion for language and understanding of cultural nuances help students gain confidence and fluency, ensuring they not only learn the language but also its real-world application
