About Kyria

I'm Kyria, and I grew up speaking Spanish and English, and I love speaking Spanish as I’m Mexican and it ties me to my roots. I enjoy teaching as it’s fun meeting new people and socializing. I have a husband, 1 kid, and a dog that keeps me very active and busy. On my time off I like to spend time with the family doing walks outside and parks to being inside watching movies. I’m happy to be here and look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching method is centered around personalized, student-focused learning. I aim to make complex concepts simple by breaking them down into digestible parts and relating them to real-world examples. My techniques include:

Active Learning: Encouraging students to participate actively through discussions, problem-solving, and questioning.
Scaffolded Learning: Gradually increasing the complexity of topics, ensuring a solid understanding at each level before moving on.
Use of Analogies and Visuals: Employing analogies, metaphors, and visual aids to make abstract concepts more relatable and easier to grasp.
Feedback Loops: Regularly checking in with students to gauge understanding and adjust the pace or approach as needed.
Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-up/Introduction (5-10 minutes): Begin with a brief review of previous material or an introduction to the day's topic, setting clear learning objectives.
Core Content Delivery (15-20 minutes): Explain the main concepts of the lesson, using examples, diagrams, and analogies to clarify points.
Interactive Practice (15-20 minutes): Engage students with exercises, problems, or discussions to apply what they've learned. This could include solving problems together, analyzing case studies, or exploring real-world applications.
Review and Clarification (10 minutes): Address any questions, clarify doubts, and reinforce key takeaways from the lesson.
Assignment/Wrap-up (5 minutes): Provide a brief overview of any homework or additional practice exercises, and summarize the key points covered.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
My ability to adapt to different learning styles and levels is a key differentiator. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable expressing their difficulties. I am also proactive in identifying areas where a student may need extra help and provide targeted resources and strategies to address those needs.

Target Audience for Lessons
My lessons are designed for:

High School Students: Preparing for exams, needing help with challenging subjects, or wanting to strengthen their understanding of core topics.
College Students: Taking introductory to advanced courses in subjects such as math, science, literature, history, and more.
Adult Learners: Seeking to enhance their knowledge, prepare for specific exams, or develop skills in particular areas, whether for personal enrichment or career advancement.
I cater to a wide range of academic levels and tailor my approach based on the specific goals and needs of each student.
