My lessons are structured with individualized plans in mind. Whatever the student wants or needs I'll put a plan together that fills that purpose.
This individualized method sets me apart from other tutors/teachers, because it takes time to develop but the results are worth it!
Lessons can be geared to all age levels, and ability levels.

Alan taught both of my kids from around middle school age through senior year of high school.
He taught them how to play multiple percussion instruments, how to read music, how to have strong practice skills, how to properly care for their instruments and how to march and count while playing an instrument.
My son turned out to be an excellent percussionist and captain of the drum line at the high school and college level mostly because he had Alan as his teacher and mentor.
Alan taught him how to harness his musical talent and helped him grow to have great discipline and love for music and his instruments. He taught him patience, determination and a strong work ethic when it came to practicing.
He is a phenomenal music teacher that makes himself as available as possible and he's very reasonably priced for the expert level of musical education he provides. He truly loves to teach and he has many many years of musical experience and knowledge.
I'm thankful he was recommended to me, he helped pave an amazing musical path for my kids.Alan was my music teacher and band director when I was in high school and during that time, helped me gain an in-depth knowledge of all-things rhythmic reading and music theory. I am the musician and growing music teacher I am today because of him. You will not find anyone better than Alan!
Alan is a fantastic educator and truly teaches to each individual and where they are at with their skills. I took lessons with him for several years and he was a huge part of my beginnings in music!
Taught me percussion from 7th grade all up through highschool. Was a driven and passionate instructor, gave me the best tools to learn and pushed me to strive for excellence. Gave me leadership advice as well as a disciplined practice structure that allowed me to gain confidence in performing all through highschool and college. He is also a kind and lighthearted man, and I am forever grateful for all that he has taught and shown me.
Alan is wonderful! He’s kind, patient and so knowledgeable. He knows just the right words to say to build confidence up all while being honest about what works and not. He tries different ways to get the message across and is fantastic! I can’t say enough. My son has made vast improvements in his drumming, learned to read music and play xylophone all thanks to Alan! My mom is a retired music teacher and also thinks his skills, teaching ability and delivery are top notch!
