About Lauren

I am a Chemistry tutor with over 7 years of teaching experience and hold an MChem degree. Over the years, I have guided students through a wide range of topics, but I have found a special passion for atmospheric chemistry and environmental pollution. My teaching focuses not only on explaining the core principles of chemistry but also on showing how these principles apply to some of the most pressing challenges of our time. I have helped learners understand the detailed processes behind smog formation, ozone depletion, acid rain, and the role of greenhouse gases in climate change. These topics require both theoretical clarity and practical insight, and I enjoy breaking them down into simpler steps. Many of my students come from environmental science backgrounds or are deeply interested in air quality, sustainability, and climate policy. By linking chemistry with environmental issues, I ensure they gain a deeper appreciation of how science connects with global challenges. My goal is to make each student confident in their ability to analyze and explain atmospheric reactions and their consequences. I believe that success comes from both strong subject knowledge and curiosity-driven learning. Guiding students to see the bigger picture gives them an edge in exams, projects, and future research. Teaching about the chemistry of our atmosphere is more than a subject—it’s an invitation to protect the world we live in. The joy of analyzing these processes lies in knowing that through learning, we are taking steps toward preserving the air we breathe.

My teaching approach in Chemistry is designed to make complex topics easier and more practical. I focus on building strong foundations in concepts such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium. For AP Chemistry test preparation, I also include advanced areas like electrochemistry, acids and bases, stoichiometry, and organic chemistry. Students learn through clear explanations, structured lessons, and interactive discussions that simplify theory and connect it to real-world scientific applications.

I use a methodology that combines targeted drills, timed practice tests, and problem-solving sessions. This helps learners develop accuracy, speed, and confidence in answering both multiple-choice and free-response questions. I also guide them in experimental analysis and lab-related reasoning, so they are well prepared for every section of the exam. My approach is flexible, adapting to individual strengths and areas that need extra support. With a background as a mentor and a strong analytical outlook, I can help students refine their skills in both understanding and application.

Every learner is prepared not just for memorization but also for deeper comprehension and strategic thinking. By practicing step-by-step methods, students improve their ability to solve complex problems with clarity. I support them in excelling, ensuring that they gain both subject mastery and exam readiness. Confidence is built lesson by lesson, so on test day, they feel capable and prepared to perform at their very best.
