Comprehensive Assessment & Tailored Strategy
Every student’s learning journey begins with a thorough assessment of their current abilities. From there, we’ll discuss and set clear goals for where you'd like your child’s progress to be by the end of our sessions together. This ensures that each lesson is personalized to your child's needs and targets areas for growth. I believe in keeping parents informed, so we maintain a weekly progress tracker and share regular updates on your child’s achievements.
Reward System
Together with you, I build a reward system to keep your child motivated. Using positive reinforcement such as stickers or a points system, we celebrate milestones with rewards given at the end of each activity or lesson. It’s a fun and effective way to encourage learning while strengthening the home-school connection.
Lesson Structure:
Primary Year 4 to Secondary School (50-minute lesson)
5-minute Review: We start with a quick recap of previous lessons or key concepts. This includes a short Q&A or a discussion to refresh your child’s memory.
15-minute Instruction: I guide the lesson with clear explanations, using multimedia, a whiteboard, and interactive tools to introduce new concepts with plenty of examples.
15-minute Guided Activities: Your child will engage in hands-on tasks where they can practice what they’ve learned. During this time, I offer support and feedback as they work.
5-minute Independent Work: This is an opportunity for your child to apply the lesson independently, whether through a quiz, worksheet, or creative project.
10-minute Review and Homework: At the end of the lesson, we’ll review what was covered, answer any lingering questions, and discuss homework to ensure your child knows exactly what to do.
ECE to Primary Year 3 (50-minute lesson)
5-minute Review: We begin with a gentle recap of the previous lesson or topic, using simple questions or an activity to refresh your child's memory.
10-minute Instruction: I introduce the lesson using simple language and visuals, often through storytelling, modeling, or videos to help your child grasp new concepts.
10-minute Games and Songs: To keep things fun and interactive, we use games or songs that are related to the lesson. This could include phonics games, counting games, or memory challenges.
10-minute Reading: We focus on reading, either through shared or independent reading, with an emphasis on phonics and sight words. Your child will have the chance to read aloud, engage in guided reading, or work on phonics exercises.
5-minute Games and Songs (Repeat): A second round of light, engaging activities to reinforce what’s been learned, such as singing or moving to phonics songs.
5-minute Drawing/Craft: Your child will have a creative outlet through drawing, coloring, or crafting, allowing them to visualize and express what they’ve learned.
5-minute Review and Homework: We wrap up with a gentle review of the lesson and provide clear, simple instructions for any homework or activities to be done at home.
Why Choose Me?
I’m committed to making sure your child’s learning experience is personalized, engaging, and effective. Working closely with both the student and their parents, we ensure that every lesson is a step towards achieving their academic goals.
Let’s work together to help your child succeed!
