About Katherine

I am currently finishing my MS and starting my PhD in electrical engineering with the goal of becoming a professor. I love research, but my real passion is in teaching. I believe that everyone can learn regardless of age, but helping students in primary and secondary school gain the skill of learning can set them up for a life of success. My goal is to always meet the students where they are at and help them to find curiosity about their subjects while also achieving other markers of success. I sincerely hope to get the chance to work with you!

About the lesson

My teaching methodology remains rooted in respect for the student and for the subject. Maths, physics, and other sciences require challenging the way we look at the world, but are also baked into our every day lives. I aim to use our intuition and our real life experience to make these subjects feel tangible and understandable. I have over five years of experience teaching across primary and secondary school and have helped students achieve great things from perfect testing scores to getting into Harvard, Yale, and UChicago in the United States.

The length of my sessions varies depending on what is needed and how much experience a student has in a subject. Primary school lessons stay around an hour, and secondary school lessons tend to be around an hour and a half. These are not set in stone however and I am happy to discuss whatever works for the student.
