About Zachary
I have worked with students of a variety of ages for over 10 years. This includes high school, undergraduate math/physics or engineering students, and graduate students. Some of the things from my past reviews that I am most proud of include my flexibility to work with students at their level (and helping them to improve it), and my willingness to stay on a topic for as long as it takes each individual to become comfortable with the material before moving on to the next area. I began teaching to help others reach their goals. I feel a sense of personal accomplishment when I help others learn and develop confidence in tricky topics.

I will help you learn the fundamentals of various undergraduate engineering topics related to Civil, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Biomedical engineering through problem solving. I have taught full courses in Statics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, as well as more advanced engineering topics. To achieve your goals, I will teach an approach that can be applied to any problem and will emphasize the real world applications. This approach breaks down problems into an easy to follow sequence of steps. These steps will help you build what my students call a "roadmap" and remove some of the anxiety surrounding complicated topics. I have also taught courses on preparation for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and can help you prepare for the exam!
The most important thing is that you are learning, and the easiest way to learn is if you are having fun and engaged with the material. So, my top priority is to make this difficult material easier to digest by presenting it in an interesting manner, then reinforcing the concepts through examples to help build confidence.
The lessons can either cover a topic within a course you need specifically, or I can prepare a lesson plan that will include all topics within a subject in order so that the lessons build on each other and cover the same material that the subject would cover in a typical semester long course.
