About Amara

As an educator with a Master's degree in Economics and over 4 years of teaching experience, my passion for economics and commitment to student learning define my career. I began my journey in academia driven by a fascination with economic theories and their application to real-world scenarios. Through my teaching, I aim to inspire students to appreciate the complexities of economic phenomena and equip them with the analytical skills needed to navigate these complexities effectively.

My teaching philosophy centers on creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students feel motivated to explore economic theories, principles, and methodologies. I strive to make complex economic concepts accessible by using practical examples, case studies, and current economic events to illustrate their relevance. Whether teaching econometrics, macroeconomics, or other specialized topics, I emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate economic ideas effectively.

Beyond the classroom, I am dedicated to continuous professional development and research in economics. This allows me to stay abreast of new developments in the field and integrate cutting-edge research findings into my teaching. I actively engage in scholarly activities such as publishing papers, attending conferences, and collaborating with colleagues, which enriches my understanding and enhances the quality of education I provide to my students.

Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to empower students to think critically, analyze economic issues rigorously, and apply economic principles to address real-world challenges. I am committed to fostering a supportive learning environment where students can develop their intellectual curiosity and grow both academically and personally. By nurturing a deeper understanding of economics and its impact on society, I strive to prepare students to become informed global citizens and future leaders in their chosen fields.

In my economics lessons, I aim to provide students with a robust understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications in econometrics and macroeconomics. Econometrics, a vital branch of economics, involves the application of statistical methods to analyze economic data and test hypotheses. Students learn to model economic relationships, interpret statistical results, and apply these findings to real-world economic issues. Topics include regression analysis, time series analysis, and econometric modeling techniques used in finance, policy evaluation, and business decision-making.

Macroeconomics lessons delve into the study of aggregate economic phenomena at the national and global levels. Students explore key macroeconomic principles such as inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and the role of government policies. Discussions often revolve around the implications of fiscal and monetary policies, international trade, and economic development strategies. Current events and case studies are integrated to illustrate how macroeconomic theories apply to contemporary economic challenges.

Throughout my lessons, I emphasize critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to articulate economic arguments coherently. Students engage in discussions, debates, and research projects that encourage them to analyze economic data, evaluate policy implications, and propose solutions to economic problems. Practical exercises and simulations simulate real-world economic scenarios, preparing students to navigate complexities and make informed decisions in their academic and professional careers.

By the end of each course, my goal is for students to not only grasp foundational principles of econometrics and macroeconomics but also to develop a deeper appreciation for the relevance of economics in shaping societal outcomes. I aim to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to critically assess economic issues, contribute to policy discussions, and pursue successful careers in economics, finance, government, and beyond.
