About Lara
I bring over 8 years of tutoring experience and an MSc in Mathematical Finance to my teaching practice. I specialize in advanced areas of mathematics, focusing on abstract algebra and topology. My method integrates logical reasoning and proof-writing at every stage. Students often struggle with abstraction, so I make sure ideas are grounded in examples. In group theory, I begin with patterns of symmetry before moving to axiomatic definitions. In ring theory, I show how familiar number systems generalize into rich algebraic structures. For topology, I use visual and geometric intuition to give life to otherwise abstract spaces. Most of my students are university learners pursuing pure mathematics. My teaching approach is based on structure, clarity, and steady progression. I build each new idea on the last so that students see the logic of mathematics unfold step by step. Algebra is taught with care, as it is the language of higher mathematics. In calculus, I focus on making differentiation and integration accessible, breaking them down into manageable steps. Geometry is developed through proofs, which teach precision and logical thinking. Probability and statistics are introduced with practical examples to show how mathematics applies beyond textbooks. Every lesson follows a clear plan so learners never feel lost. I provide tailored guidance to support each student’s needs and pace. My aim is not just to teach methods but to deepen understanding. This approach benefits all students, but especially future actuaries and problem solvers, who require strong reasoning skills.
