About Poppy
I am a violin tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Graduate Diploma in Violin Pedagogy. I focus on integrating music theory, aural skills, and sight reading into practical violin practice. My lessons are designed to prepare students for music theory exams and to strengthen their understanding of advanced harmony. Scales, intervals, and harmonic concepts are taught through structured bowing and fingering exercises. I work with students aiming to excel in music exams and those wanting to improve overall musical fluency. My approach ensures that technique and theory go hand in hand. Sight reading exercises are incorporated to build confidence and accuracy. I emphasize ear training to enhance musical perception. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals. I also provide guidance in phrasing, articulation, and expressive playing. Students learn to connect theoretical knowledge with practical violin skills.
