About Evan

I’m passionate about helping children discover the magic of the violin through a playful and creative approach. With over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin), I specialize in developing strong aural skills from a very young age. I use storytelling, movement, rhythm games, and simple melodies to make technique feel natural and fun. My lessons are influenced by Suzuki and Kodály methods, emphasizing both musical expression and careful listening. I believe that children learn best when they’re engaged, enthusiastic, and supported in their musical journeys. Each child is encouraged to grow at their own pace while developing a strong foundation for future artistry. From clapping games to singing folk tunes, we connect to the rich world of classical and traditional music together. I’m passionate about turning practice into a musical adventure — a time filled with creativity and imagination. My aim is for every student to enjoy making music while strengthening their musical ear. Whether your child is just starting or already developing their skills, I’m here to guide them toward a lifelong love of the violin. Let’s make their musical path a happy and rewarding experience!

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on making orchestral playing warm, interactive, and goal-oriented for every student. I guide you through developing your blend within a section, following a conductor, and managing dynamics alongside your fellow musicians. My lessons include simulated ensemble exercises and collaborative practice sessions to help you grow as a team player. We’ll work together on score reading and interpreting the full range of expression that orchestral performance demands. I’m passionate about helping you prepare for youth and community orchestra auditions with confidence and artistry. Whether you’re transitioning from a solo or pop background or looking to contribute to a larger group, I’ll support you in strengthening your skills. My aim is to prepare you for the big stage, where you can perform alongside passionate musicians. Through careful practice, you’ll learn to make your instrument a powerful voice within the orchestra. Let’s collaborate and bring your musical ambitions to life!
