About Fiona
I am a piano teacher with over 4 years of experience working with students online and in-person. My academic training includes a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy emphasis, which shapes my structured yet creative teaching philosophy. Lessons focus on sight-reading fluency, detailed score analysis, and interpreting advanced repertoire with depth and authenticity. Music is never just about notes—it’s about storytelling. To bring this alive, I integrate history, theory, and performance practice into each lesson. Finger exercises are used strategically to develop control and ease. Every student learns differently, so my approach is flexible and personalized. I have worked with students at all levels, from their first scales to professional pianists preparing demanding concert works. My teaching adapts to the needs of each learner while always aiming for artistry. Lessons encourage exploration, discipline, and joy in equal measure. In my piano teaching, I combine traditional training with modern possibilities. The classical side focuses on sight-reading, score study, and expressive performance. Students also work on technique with exercises to strengthen their playing. Alongside this, I introduce tools like digital pianos, synthesizers, and DAWs. These open up creative opportunities that go beyond the acoustic piano. Recording techniques are taught in simple ways so students can hear and evaluate themselves. This helps them grow with awareness. Lessons are always adapted to the student’s level and goals. Beginners are given patient guidance, while advanced students refine their artistry. Highly gifted pianists are supported in using technology to enhance their sound and expand their reach. I want students to feel both challenged and inspired. Learning piano should be a mix of structure, creativity, and joy. My goal is to help each student find their unique voice.
