About Mia

I am a phd student in Classics, teaching is a passion for me. Besides the institutional relationship, I like to empathise with the people I teach: I try to understand them humanely. This communication effort has allowed me to guide my students not only in their intellectual growth but also in their human growth. I myself do not like to present myself in a 'cold' way but I love to put myself on the same level as my students: in fact, I often learn from each one of them.

About the lesson

The student is at the centre of my teaching plan: his or her needs come first. My lessons will integrate more traditional approaches (e.g. the study of Italian grammar and linguistic structures) with active learning approaches through spoken language practice. The students' learning styles will determine the weight of these components, so it will be important to know the student's preferences and educational needs. The duration of the lessons may vary according to need, 60 minutes is the minimum, but I will be flexible at all times to meet the needs of my students. I have teaching experience at different levels and in different contexts: I have taught Italian linguistics to postgraduates students from scientific fields, as well as classical languages to undergraduates from classical subjects. Adaptability to the context and to the people who listen to me is my strength.
