About Raluca
I hold dual French-Romanian citizenship, and a Ph.D. in Comparative literature (French/Romanian/English). I am an ex-student of the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris. I am a passionate teacher of university-level comparative literature, I have eight years of teaching experience in universities in France and Italy - which amounts to about 1400 hours.
I'm committed to creating a pleasant and stress-free teaching environment, and am attentive to the level, needs and goals of every student. My teaching is based on culture-related discoveries (music, visual media, literature, essays and articles) focusing on reading comprehension, written production, pronunciation, conversation, written translation, grammar (including theoretical grammar) and telling stories on the weaving strands of etymology.

A course aimed to assist you on your journey of learning Romanian, carefully adapted to your level and specific needs. Among the methods I use: light-hearted conversation to help you master the cadence and rhythm of Romanian pronunciation (Latin with a smattering of Slavic); reading and collaborative translation as tools for the discovery of a new culture and language. Plenty of media-related materials will be provided (translated music/clips etc.) as well as grammar exercises and grammar theory. Emphasis will be put on a stress-free, Zen-ish atmosphere - the best way to learn a language, after all, is to dance as if nobody's watching - or speak without being afraid of any grammar mistake...
