About Christine

I am a Pueblo, CO native who has been playing piano for 15 years. I graduated from CSU-Pueblo with a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance and a minor in Piano Pedagogy (private piano teaching). I am trained in mostly classical music and I am able to teach any age or ability level. I am flexible, schedule- and method-wise, and I truly enjoy watching people blossom into the musicians they didn't know they could be. I currently hold a job as church pianist/organist as well as private teaching and serving as the a coordinator for a statewide music competition and the President of the local collegiate chapter of the Music Teachers National Association.

About the lesson

After having two trial lessons with every new student to ensure that our personalities work well together, I determine the student's ability and goals. This allows me to teach each student on a uniquely individual basis, resulting in individualized plans and the most effective progress possible. The length of the lesson depends on the age of the student, but each lesson consists of a complete approach to music, including theory, rhythm work, repertoire, technical development, and performance practice. Additionally, I try to provide live performance opportunities to all of my students and prepare them for whatever musical future they might have.
