About Daniel
Hello, my name is Daniel! I have taught music for 5 years with piano and in a percussion ensemble. I started learning piano in 2003 and continued learning to this day as well as picking up drumset and concert/marching percussion. I'm currently an undergraduate at Berklee School of Music and already completed my Associate degree in music. I had the opportunity to get personal instruction from Paul Rennick – a world-renown marching and concert percussionist from UNT in my training in music composition for the percussion ensemble. Currently, I write and compose music for local high schools in the Sacramento area and also personally instruct high school students in the marching arts.
Some of my personal achievements;
-1st place California State Percussion Champion 3 years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019)
-Performed in Disneyland - Los Angles (2017, 2019)
-Winner of the Leonard Bernstein Musicianship Award for Music Creativity (2019)
-Done Masterclasses with Hanz Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Paul Rennick, and many more.
-Currently has taken my percussion ensemble in winning the 2022 state championship and a finalist in 2023.

Hi, there! I'm Daniel and I offer a self-paced piano lesson for beginner to advanced students. Does not matter in you have some expertise or no experience or if you are young or old. I will teach you various materials covering different aspects of musicality from technical to aural skills. You can also choose your favorite songs to play on the piano, and the music that is chosen is built around your musician's needs. I am also an experienced composer and arranger that has written for multiple schools, so I can guide you to your very first composition writing as well.
Each lesson I do will last for about 1 hour. We start with exercises and warm-ups that build finger dexterity and strength. Then review material from the previous lesson as well as learn new music theory material. Also, we will work on sight reading and ear training to build and train our skills to read. And lastly, we will work on any songs or music pieces that we are working on. Usually, there will be 2-3 pieces of music we will be constantly working on, one is a week-to-week piece of music, and the other one or two is a piece of music that we will be working on for some time. There will be also the option to also learn the ability to study and compose music.
