About Michael
Hello, I'm Michael. I have been working with students at the public school for 12 years. I started out in Special Education as a one-on-one paraprofessional and then moved to dyslexia interventionist 7 years ago. I move schools according to need, this has allowed me to work with students from 2nd to 12th grade. I care about my students as people not just a job. Their success is my only goal.

I am an adult with dyslexia. I know the struggles students have and how to overcome. The system that Susan Barton developed is the best that I know of. It is based in solid research and I have seen it improve the reading and confidence levels of my students.
Each student learns at a different pace, so I structure lessons to meet those needs. Each lesson will have a teaching section followed by different practice sections of reading and writing.
We start with the most basic part of reading: phonemic awareness and progress through decoding words and finish with some of the English words based in Latin and Greek.
