About Elisa
To me, piano lessons are about opening up a lifelong relationship with music—one that brings confidence, self-expression, and a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves. I build my teaching on the idea that every student learns differently, and I tailor each lesson to reflect their goals, interests, and pace. I cover foundational techniques like sight-reading, hand coordination, and rhythmic stability, while also helping students understand the theory behind what they’re playing. I integrate ear training and improvisation early in the process so that students feel comfortable creating music as well as interpreting it. I once worked with a student who had a strong ear but no reading skills; instead of starting with method books, we built his literacy through pieces he loved, gradually adding notation and structure as he grew more confident. I use tools like notation software, practice planners, rhythm apps, and duet recordings to keep lessons varied and effective. I also emphasize the importance of tone, touch, and expression—helping students move beyond correct notes into meaningful interpretation. Students learn how to set realistic goals, evaluate their own progress, and take ownership of their musical journey. Whether you want to pursue classical repertoire, compose original pieces, or play your favorite pop songs, I will guide you with clarity, creativity, and care. My role is not just to teach music, but to help students unlock their potential through it—and to find joy at every step of the journey.

Teaching piano is a journey that combines patience, creativity, and structured learning, all tailored to fit the individual needs of each student. I believe every student has the capacity to grow into a confident, expressive musician, and my role is to provide the tools, guidance, and encouragement to make that possible. The foundation of my teaching is built on developing strong technical skills—proper hand posture, finger strength and dexterity, rhythmic precision, and sight-reading ability—which form the backbone for successful and sustainable piano playing.
However, technique is only one piece of the puzzle; I emphasize the importance of musicality and expression, encouraging students to think deeply about phrasing, dynamics, and emotional storytelling through music. My lessons are carefully designed to blend technical exercises with pieces that inspire and challenge, spanning classical repertoire, jazz standards, pop tunes, and original compositions. Music theory and ear training are integrated seamlessly to deepen understanding and support musical intuition. Improvisation and composition play a central role in my approach, giving students opportunities to explore their own creativity and develop a personal musical voice. I utilize modern technology, including recording tools, metronomes, and digital practice apps, to provide immediate feedback and keep students motivated. Above all, I foster a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate progress. My goal is to help students not only master the piano but also discover the joy, confidence, and lifelong passion that music can bring.
