About Hazel
With a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (Pedagogy Focus) and over 4 years of teaching experience, I offer piano lessons that blend artistry with precision. My philosophy emphasizes sight-reading fluency, careful score analysis, and interpretation of challenging classical repertoire. I believe music study should be both rigorous and inspiring. Students are guided not only through technical exercises, but also through music theory, history, and stylistic traditions that shape their playing. I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, whether they are a beginner, advanced performer, or professional pianist. Flexibility and adaptability are at the core of my teaching approach. Finger exercises are integrated to build dexterity and control, but always in service of expressive musicianship. Period performance practices also play a role in connecting students to the authenticity of the repertoire. Over the years, I have witnessed students grow in confidence, artistry, and independence. Lessons are designed to challenge while nurturing each student’s passion. Above all, I aim to help pianists connect deeply with the music they play. Join me in mastering the depth and beauty of piano literature.

I believe piano teaching should honor the past while embracing the future. My lessons start with classical foundations: sight-reading, theory, and expressive performance. From there, we explore digital pianos and synthesizers to expand sound possibilities. Students are introduced to DAWs, where they can record, layer, and experiment with their music. Basic recording techniques help them listen back and improve with clarity. This integration of technology builds confidence and creativity. Every student learns differently, so my approach adapts to their needs. Beginners build strong basics, while advanced students refine their artistry. I provide extra support to those with extraordinary talent, guiding them to use both tradition and technology to shine. The goal is not just to play, but to perform with depth and imagination. Lessons are structured but remain flexible and engaging. I aim to inspire students to reach their highest potential.
