This milestone is a moment of celebration and an opportunity to look back and appreciate the road travelled. From early struggles to exciting victories, every step has been instrumental in shaping the company Superprof is today.
Join us as we celebrate Superprof's 10th anniversary and discover how this platform is changing how the world learns!

A decade-long journey 🚀
The story of Superprof is one of ambition, innovation, and constant expansion. Ten years ago, in the picturesque town of Biarritz, France, Wilfred Granier, an engineer, former KPMG consultant, and Ernst & Young executive, envisioned a world where learning knew no borders. He dreamed of creating the "Airbnb of private lessons": a platform connecting students eager to learn with teachers willing to share their knowledge. And so Superprof was born in 2013 with a simple but audacious goal.
A few months after its launch, the company merged efforts with cherche-cours.com.

This was the first step in an ambitious journey of mergers and acquisitions that would see Superprof catapult to the forefront of education and tutoring.
In 2014, a year after its founding, we began our international expansion, marking our presence in Belgium and Switzerland. The growth did not stop there. Each year, we opened doors in new markets, from Spain and Brazil to Italy, Germany and beyond, reaching the United States, India and Australia.

Not only did we grow in geographic presence, but also in our community of teachers. From 100,000 teachers in 2014, we grew to over one million certified teachers in 2017, offering classes in 250 subjects.
2018 was particularly exciting with one of our most notable acquisitions: The Tutor Pages, a leading London-based home tutoring company. This acquisition propelled Superprof into the heart of one of the largest online learning markets, the UK, doubling our community and consolidating our international presence.
In 2020, Camille Lemardeley became the Managing Director of Superprof, continuing the company's growth and consolidation strategy. In June 2022, Superprof acquired one of its largest competitors in the French market, kelprof.com, adding 15 acquisitions since its creation.
Today, we have an impressive community of over 24 million teachers and 35 million students worldwide.

Present in 42 countries, with a turnover of 30 million euros by 2022 and over 130 employees of multiple nationalities. We have had an impressive journey in our first decade.
As we celebrate our tenth anniversary, we remember the bold dreams of our founder and how those dreams have come true. The Superprof adventure proves how one idea can change how the world learns. And that's just the beginning…
Surfing the innovation wave 🏄
Having overcome the challenge of establishing ourselves in the competitive startup world, we had an even bigger task ahead of us: innovation. We asked ourselves: How could we change the game's rules in online education? How could we offer our students and teachers unique and meaningful experiences that went beyond the usual academic transactions?

Like a navigator braving the storm, we take on the challenge to innovate boldly.
With our sights set on the technological horizon, we embarked on a journey of constant exploration and experimentation.
Students are not mere clients for us, they are explorers of knowledge, and teachers are not mere providers of information but wise guides in this learning adventure.
We have focused on several key innovations to differentiate ourselves and offer unique value. The first of these was the personalisation of learning. Rather than providing a one-size-fits-all approach, we strive to tailor learning experiences to each student's needs, interests, and pace.
Hybrid teaching approach
Another notable innovation has been the combination of online and face-to-face learning. This flexibility has greatly benefited students and teachers in today's world, where circumstances can change rapidly.
One of the most significant moments in the journey was adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic. When the world reached a standstill, we knew our mission was more relevant than ever. We quickly implemented new tools and protocols to ensure that teaching and learning could continue safely and effectively, even amid the crisis.
As the world continues to change and evolve, Superprof maintains its innovative spirit. Every challenge allows us to learn, grow, and find new ways to do things better. Innovation is not just a strategy for us. It is part of our DNA, a common thread that connects every aspect of our work, from our pedagogical approach to our technology and company culture.

And so, at Superprof, we continue our innovation journey, committed to our mission to open the doors of knowledge to everyone, everywhere. Every day, lesson, and interaction is an opportunity to discover new ways to enrich the learning experience and redefine the boundaries of what is possible in online education.
Voices from the heart of Superprof ❤️
As we have seen, innovation has been a cornerstone of Superprof's journey. But these great ideas and breakthroughs don't just come out of nowhere. Behind every innovation, a dedicated team works tirelessly to make these bold visions a reality.
We want to take a step behind the scenes and introduce you to some Superprof employees who have played a vital role in this exciting journey.
Camille Lemardeley's career at Superprof unfolds before us like a tapestry full of colour and life. This pivotal figure in the company's history came to Superprof more than nine and a half years ago as the first employee. From his earliest days, he worked in multiple roles: customer service, communications, sales, and managing website enhancements.
Camille took on more responsibilities as the company grew until he became the Managing Director.
His look back is tinged with awe and gratitude. Camille recalls, "The most incredible story is the story of Superprof… we were just two when we started, without offices, without computers. We got our first 80m2 office space, set up a table with two easels and a wooden board, and worked until 2 am every night out of passion for the project".

Marta also remembers the early days in a small office in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, where everyone worked around a table in an atmosphere she described as "intimate and jovial".
Marta, originally from Vigo, Spain, has worked with Superprof for over seven and a half years. Her path to Superprof was, in fact, a fortunate coincidence. She came to Paris to work in various jobs, one of which was to be a private Spanish teacher. She taught in two schools and simultaneously with Superprof, a platform she discovered online.
Her story with the company began with a phone call from Yann, one of the founders. Superprof's Spanish market had only been open for six months, and they needed an expert in customer relationship management (CRM). Marta accepted the invitation for an interview, taking the first step in what would become a great adventure.

Her career at Superprof was not without its challenges. She vividly recalls an incident at the Rue Pajol office: "We arrived in the morning and started to smell a strange odour. We opened the office and discovered that the toilet drains had 'rained' into our premises from the hostel above. The team had to clean up quickly, salvage all the computers, and, due to the persistent smell, work in the street for a few days, using Mexican sombreros as parasols".
However, these experiences did not overshadow Marta's positive perception of Superprof. In her opinion, what sets the company apart is its ability to bring talented people together and create an atmosphere of acceptance and camaraderie. Marta is grateful for the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds, which has enriched her professionally and personally. According to her, Superprof is an example of how many cultures can work and live together in total harmony.
Emma has been an SEO manager for five years and adds her unique narrative to the Superprof story.
Among the many aspects that captivate Emma about the company, the cherished tradition of annual seminars takes centre stage.

These are days dedicated to team building, when all Superprof staff comes together, whether in France or abroad. One of Emma's fondest memories is the 2018 seminar in Sicily.
As a newcomer to the team, Emma describes her experience in Sicily as a fantastic way to make new friends.
"The team stayed in a wonderful castle with a private beach. Everyone was so welcoming that I felt immediately comfortable", she recalls.
Emma credits this welcoming team spirit for what makes Superprof so unique. So does Louizy, a Brazilian national who joined Superprof in April 2017.
Louizy has collected many unforgettable experiences throughout her career, from end-of-year parties to workshops with teachers and seminars. One event, in particular, left an indelible mark on her. On one occasion, a team member suggested that everyone bring a typical dish from their country to share.
The culinary diversity that unfolded at the table was a palpable metaphor for the cultural diversity that flourishes at Superprof—that evening of sharing culture, food and personal stories stuck in Louizy's mind as an exceptional memory.
"For two years, my workspace at Superprof was composed of Italian, Brazilian and Spanish employees. Over time, we began to understand all the languages spoken in the room - it was an amazing experience!" shares Louizy.

Finally, we also have the testimony of Marika. Her journey at Superprof started with building and developing effective customer policies and processes in the French-speaking markets. Her skills and efforts enabled those processes to be standardised in all countries where Superprof has a presence.
Marika is a living example of the dedication and enthusiasm that permeates Superprof.

Originally from Sicily and resident in France for the past year, Marika has been at the company's heart for more than three years as Client Service and Sales Manager.
When Marika is asked how she sees Superprof in ten years, her answer is direct and confident:
"We will have conquered the world, and Superprof will be the most used knowledge-sharing platform ever".
These stories embody the spirit of our vision at Superprof and reveal the special bond that unites our multicultural and multi-faceted team. From modest beginnings in a small office to vibrant celebrations and shared experiences, these testimonials illustrate the beating heart of this company.
Together, we have overcome obstacles, shared laughter and cultivated a common ambition to open the doors of knowledge to everyone, everywhere. So, on this tenth anniversary, we honour not only Superprof's achievement as a company but the human spirit and determination that made it possible.
Teaching superstars: Extraordinary teachers 😎
Since its inception, Superprof has served as a vibrant hub where wisdom and a deep passion for learning converge. Having heard the voices of those who make the magic happen behind the scenes, it's time to shift the focus to the front of the stage, where our exceptional teachers shine brightly.
Over the years, we at Superprof have built the largest community of teachers in the world. They are the champions who bring our mission to life, the ones whose talent, knowledge and dedication inspire and transform the lives of millions of students worldwide. Let's meet some teaching stars that make Superprof such a unique and memorable learning platform…
Maria Clara Lima
Maria Clara is one of the brightest teaching stars at Superprof. Originally from Brazil, Maria Clara is much more than a tennis teacher. She is a former professional athlete who took her passion for the sport from the sunny courts of Rio de Janeiro to the prestigious courts of Roland Garros Junior. In addition, she enriched her knowledge through studies in Physical Education, giving even more depth to her teaching.
From a very early age, tennis became second nature to her. At age 5, Maria Clara began her journey with a racquet in hand, becoming number 1 in her country in all categories and one of the top five in South America. Her talent and dedication even took her to Italy, where she lived for a year playing professionally and teaching at a club in the city of Bergamo.

My main goal is that everyone learns the techniques of tennis and that they can evolve in each training session.
Maria Clara, tennis teacher.
Maria Clara embodies the spirit of Superprof: the desire to share wisdom, the love of learning and the passion to help others grow. In every serve and lesson, she conveys the techniques of tennis and the love of the sport that has led her to achieve her dreams.
Massimiliano Frateschi
Another example of an exceptional teacher on the platform is Massimiliano, a virtuous in acting. Originally from Bari, Italy, this talented actor and writer decided at an early age that his path lay in the theatre world.

At eighteen, Massimiliano traded his home in Bari for the historic streets of Rome, where he began training at the famous Cinecittà NUCT academy.
Unfortunately, the academy closed after two years, but that did not deter Massimiliano, who moved to New York to continue his training with Susan Batson and at Actor Studios.
After living in New York and spending some time in Los Angeles, back in Italy, Massimiliano wasted no time working with leading theatre directors, appearing on the country's main stages. On the big screen, he participated in well-known Italian productions such as "Sulla mia Pelle", "Le Massacre de Duisburg", and "Les Chaises de Dieu". He also had roles in TV series, such as Danny Boyle's "TRUST" and "Captain Maria" produced by RAI.
Perhaps one of Massimiliano's most powerful performances was his monologue "Denise, sono io", in which he plays a young transgender man. In 2015, he surprised everyone by appearing at the Rome Film Festival in disguise and hiding his real identity, convincing the judges and the audience that he was a young transgender man. His performance won him the award for best work on the character.
Massimiliano is a passionate acting teacher at Superprof, where he mixes the most recognised techniques of theatre and film with stage instinct. His philosophy is straightforward:
There is no method to acting, there is a balance between what you feel when you are in character and the fundamental technique of not losing the focus of the scene.
Massimiliano, acting teacher.
An innately talented actor, an inspired writer and a passionate teacher, Massimiliano represents the commitment and dedication that distinguishes the teachers on our platform.

Each of them, with their own success stories, passion and experience, demonstrates our commitment to quality and educational excellence.
