When we started Superprof, long before we became one of the leading online tutoring platforms, we decided that we had to do things a bit differently to offer an excellent service to both students and tutors. However, doing things differently also means that people are sometimes surprised by how Superprof works or even misunderstand what the company does.
Superprof isn't a tutoring agency. We don't allocate tutors to students, and we don't employ any teachers or tutors. Instead, Superprof is a subscription service that provides students with access to great people who want to share their knowledge through private tutoring.
We can attract great tutors because we don't charge them to host their profiles on the Superprof website, and we don't dictate how they run their tutoring business. They're the experts, and we leave them to offer a great teaching experience, however they see fit.
But we're still a company at the end of the day, and we do need an income. We earn this income through our subscription service offered to students. Students interested in a lesson or seeking to connect with a tutor must pay for this subscription service.
The access fee for the Student Pass is $59. Students who are signed up for the Superprof Student Pass can contact as many tutors as they like while this subscription is active. When you're done with your subscription, you can cancel it, and you don't even need to keep your subscription active once you've started your lessons with your tutor. Once you start working with a tutor, everything is between you and the tutor. The Superprof Student Pass is just for contacting tutors.
