Research Scientist offering Science and Engineering (Chemistry/Chemical Engineering) lessons in central Auckland

Methodology

From my teaching experience at University of Auckland, I prefer to give brief power point presentations to students on the relevant subject matter and help students with their queries. I also do some practical demonstrations while teaching to make students engaged and learn better.

Experience

I am a research scientist at Plant & Food Research (PFR) recently completed my PhD in Chemistry from University of Auckland. I have gained enormous experience in teaching chemistry papers to undergraduate chemistry students at the University of Auckland.

Post-doctoral Scientist
• Coupling insect odorant receptors in different display formats to a range of sensor substrates such as conducting polymers, electrodes, microfabricated chips, etc. and show reproducible detection of volatile organic compounds
• Optimisation of prototype insect odorant receptor based biosensor devices to produce a rapid signal output to enable real-time diagnostic analysis
• Multiplexing a panel of insect odorant receptors on optimised prototype devices and collect real world samples data (bacterial cultures, wine, pest infested fruit, plasma, urine, breath, etc.) to enable machine learning algorithm to be developed

• Synthesizing conducting polymer/composite actuators and characterized their physical, chemical, electrical and mechanical properties using CV, SEM, EDX, FTIR, Raman, EIS and AFM
