About the lesson

I'm an avid reader and I love writing poetry. My love of the theatre spurred me onto the pursuit of a BA Honours Degree in Acting. I love travelling and I spend a lot of time in Spain and working on improving my Spanish. As a teacher, I like tackling pronunciation issues. I use a lot of techniques learned during my BA to aid my students with the typical difficulties they have in this area.
I'm a teacher that seeks to keeps my students' level on anxiety as low as possible. I know from personal experience learning Spanish, this can be a problem. I focus on the needs and level my students are at. Their impetus for learning English greatly influences the materials I choose to cover. I always ensure that there is a mutual respect between myself and students. I'm always professional, but as I am a very relaxed person myself, I always bring calm and fun to my class.

About Shonel

I'm a qualified Tefl Teacher. I also received A Levels in English Language and Literature. I also teach on two other platforms. Over the years, I have assisted my non native friends with English Language issues and the positive feedback made me realize that I had a calling. I focus on pronunciation, grammar and general speaking practice. I also teach in both Standard American and Standard British RP accents.
I work with scores of students from all over the world from as young as 8 years old to adults in their 40s. I teach students who are learning for university, business, travel or just for fun. I cover a variety of topics and levels. My classes are engaging and fun. I work closely with my students to eek out what outcomes they want for their language learning and I help them to reach those goals.
