About Anthony
I am a patient and experienced tutor with over 35 years of success helping students achieve excellent results in A Level Economics, Business and Accounting, and over 30 years’ experience teaching at degree level in Accounting, Finance, and related business subjects. My teaching is practical, clear, and focused on what really matters — understanding, confidence, and exam success. I use real-life examples from business and finance to bring topics to life and help students see how theory applies in the real world. I have taught students from more than 20 nationalities, including many whose first language is not English. My approach adapts to each student’s needs - whether they are an A Level resitter, a university student preparing for exams, or a business professional seeking to understand financial reports and budgets. I take pride in my students’ progress and in helping them achieve results they once thought impossible. Seeing that moment of understanding - when a topic finally makes sense - is what motivates me most as a tutor. I believe effective tutoring combines patience, clarity, and real-world relevance. My approach focuses on understanding how each student thinks, identifying where they struggle, and then explaining topics in simple, practical terms — often using examples from business and everyday life. Students frequently tell me that this makes complex ideas finally “click.” I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs. For A Level students, I emphasise exam technique and long-answer questions, as these are where the marks are. For degree and professional students, I focus on understanding concepts and applying them to real cases, business reports, or MBA-style case studies. I also help students develop confidence and structure in their written answers. My lessons are usually 60 to 120 minutes long, depending on the student’s concentration and goals. Each session includes review, explanation, guided practice, and short feedback discussions. I have over 35 years of experience teaching A Level Economics, Business, and Accounting, and around 30 years at degree level in Accounting, Finance, and related business courses. In recent years, I’ve also helped business owners, directors, and senior managers understand financial reports, budgets, and performance improvement — ideal for those from both commercial and not-for-profit sectors. My students range from A Level resitters and university students to professionals seeking to strengthen their financial understanding. I’ve successfully worked with learners from more than 20 nationalities, including many whose first language is not English. Ultimately, my goal is to make every student interested, confident, and independent - the kind who goes away wanting to read more after the lesson. Seeing them grasp difficult concepts and achieve their dream results is what I find most rewarding.
