About Gabby
I am an undergraduate student pursuing a dual BS/MS degree in Neuroscience in addition to a BS in Biology and Psychology with a minor in politics on the premed track. I have 3+ years of tutoring experience with students of all backgrounds (neurodivergent, low socioeconomic status, etc), and I have 10+ years of experience working with kids with mental and physical disabilities. I also love to bake, walk my dog, and watch Netflix :)

My tutoring strategy is centered around the student and their needs. I first work to understand how each student learns best and use their strengths to their advantage. For example, if I were tutoring a visual learner in Organic Chemistry, I would use a model kit to explain mechanisms. In contrast, if I were tutoring a student who best learning via verbal explanations, I would focus more on verbal explanations and supplement with practice problems. During a typical tutoring session, I would start with a few minutes of getting to know each other, then diving into whatever worksheet the student wanted to work on or explaining concepts. I often try to get a feel for how much they know by asking questions from basic to difficult at the beginning of the session. I primarily tutor organic chemistry to college students, but I am happy to tutor lower level sciences.
