Firstly, I would do a pre-tutorial test on the student to see what level of knowledge the student has. If the student is relatively behind, I will focus on teaching the content with the aid of powerpoint, class work tasks and homework. Once the student is up to speed, the tutorials will be focused more on exercises and Q&As based on questions the student has. I will have lot of learning material prepared for students, and i tend to use a lot of examples and analogies To make sure concepts I explained are well understood.
I have had 5 years of turoring experience, teaching NCEA contents including calculus, statistics, physics, chemistry and Japanese. I also do tutor university contents, including health science and any related courses. Speaking fluent English and Mandarin enables me to provide tutorial in different languages, allowing students to understand contents much better.
