I like to start by warming up the instrument of choice, whether it be vocal exercises or piano scales.
We will then practice improvisation and timed poetry. Moving on further into the fundamental importance of genre and structure, which will include note taking and youtube videos. Once that knowledge has been absorbed, the student can try writing as little or as much music as they wish.
As I said before, I have a back ground in choirs and hold a diploma in music. I have been in a couple of musicals, have performed in bands and as a solo artist on stage several times. In terms of teaching experience, I have taught a 15 year old girl how to sing.
