About My Lessons
My teaching philosophy is simple: History and Civics shouldn’t feel like a list of names and dates to memorize—they should feel like a story you actually want to follow.
What a typical session looks like:
We start by identifying the "pain points" in your current unit. Whether it’s a confusing geography map, a dense primary source document, or an upcoming Civics exam, we tackle the hardest material first while your brain is fresh.
I specialize in helping students with:
Breaking Down Textbooks: I teach you how to skim for the "big ideas" so you aren’t spending four hours on twenty pages of reading.
Writing Mastery: We will practice outlining essays, drafting thesis statements, and analyzing evidence for DBQs and short-answer questions.
Memory Hooks: I use custom visuals, mnemonics, and real-world analogies to make complex concepts (like the Electoral College or Plate Tectonics) stick.
Study Systems: I don't just teach the content; I teach you how to study so you feel confident even when I'm not there.
