About Tony
I love languages. I find it interesting how the movement of peoples throughout the ages from one place to another has influenced language as we know it and where we speak it. In my latest years in the field of languages, I have focused on translating; I served as a Safety Coordinator for a food manufacturing plant, one of my duties was to impart training to a diverse workforce of English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese speakers. I was able to accomplish this through Alchemy Creator, utilizing advanced PowerPoint as basis for interactive training as well as verbal translation and document translation. I am actively involved in my church's Spanish ministry by translating Bible studies and services.

The lessons I have created for my clients have been tailored to their needs and levels of learning. I have tutored age groups from 3 years of age to 60 years of age, molding the lesson around their needs while taking advantage of their daily environment. Repetition and immersion is key. Ex. 1) I tutored a mariachi singer who wanted to learn English, for him I created lessons focusing on music, cultural references, and utilized his day job as a steel worker as daily practice by using examples of daily conversations he may have with coworkers regarding hobbies, work tasks, materials, tools, greetings and jargon used in the workplace. Ex. 2) I tutored a 3-year-old whose parents wanted her to learn French. We made great progress by making the lessons fun and attention-grabbing through the use of songs, pictures, and games; again, repetition and immersion are key, therefore with every lesson at home I like to go around the house placing translation sticky notes on furniture, appliances, surfaces, etc. The more you see it and practice it, the fresher it will be in your mind.
