I am flexible with my classes depending on the needs of the student. I have helped students to pass the IELTS, Cambridge and TOEIC exams so those classes were very exam focussed. However, when doing the in-company classes, students were required to develop their speaking and listening skills to participate in work conferences so our classes were designed to develop these abilities. I always bring the communicative approach into my classes.
I started teaching English to new immigrants to NZ as a volunteer and this inspired me to do the CELTA certificate in 2003. Earlier, I had a completed a degree in English at Auckland University. Over the past 15 years, I have been teaching in a variety of situations in New Zealand and abroad, including language schools in Auckland and in-company teaching in Europe. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and have a keen interest in the English language. I am also an avid reader and qualified in literacy teaching.
