About Dylan
My name is Dylan, and I'm a biology student at the University of Aberdeen. I aspire to achieve a postgraduate degree in biology and eventually become a lecturer at a university.
I want to tutor you because I have a strong passion for biology and believe that it is the most interesting subject.
In my free time, I enjoy playing games, studying, and reading. My favourite book about biology that I've read so far is The Way of the Cell by Franklin Harold, and I think it is interesting as it mixes both philosophy and biology. I have read a wide range of texts, and I believe that external reading is also key to success in exams - it builds a strong foundation that can be exploited to further your understanding of the course.

The typical length of a tutoring session is one to two hours.
In the sessions, I have prepared materials for each individual student that aligns with the work that they have done in class, so that they can consolidate all of the work. The lessons begin with a recap of the previous lesson, acting as a bit of spaced repetition, and end with a mini-quiz about what we have covered, allowing me to check how much more work is needed on the topic at hand.
I have achieved high results across all levels of secondary school biology, and I have done well in other sciences having taken chemistry, physics and maths to Higher.
In the past, I have tutored from when I was in secondary school. I would explain complex topics such as the citric acid cycle and how different immune responses work to other students at my school.

I have dyslexia and Dylan helped me with the structure of his lessons by using dyslexia friendly fonts and using slides with yellow backgrounds. He makes each lesson fun and engaging which makes each topic easier to understand. Overall I would recommend him to other students.
