I began taking algebra classes in the 7th grade, and I have always loved math. I believe that the different types of learning (visual, hands on, etc.) are good starting points, but I've found that most people learn best from a combination of these types. I believe guided practice and exercises are a great way to learn and figure out what exactly a student doesn't understand.
I've been helping people with math as long as I've had classmates next to me who didn't understand the problems. I have never been an official tutor before, but I have no doubt that I could be helpful to anybody in need of help. I have had friends ask me numerous times to help them study, and they ended up doing as well as I did on the tests.
