About the lesson

I am an instrumental music teacher with over 25 years experience. But we have also home schooled 7 of our own children. 4 have recently graduated from high level Universities including Edingburgh and Sheffield

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

The piano and the cello are my 2 specialities ! I also tutor Maths, Biology and Geography up and including GCSE

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I studied at the Royal College of Music and obtained a B.Mus (Lon) and ARCM teaching qualification.

- How much do you charge?

£16 for half hour lessons, £24 for 45minutes and £32 for an hour. But if fees are an issue please do contact me anyway.

- Where do you teach?

I teach in Felixstowe primarily but may be able to travel depending on circumstances etc.

- When are you available?

During the week - daytime and evenings. Saturdays may be possible.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

Primary school age through Secondary and Adults.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

Associated Board and Guildhall/ Trinity practical and theory examinations. iGCSE boards - AQA Edexcel Cambridge.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

We have many facilities for private education - a music study room with grand piano, a designated bright study room, science with online resources books etc, a home science lab in top floor independent kitchen. Our home is a friendly centre of education with music classes for tiny tots on one morning, bread making and craft activities on another, private music students on 2 days a week aswell as being a happy home school environment. Rebekka my wife is also in education teaching the violin and viola and tiddely pom music groups for under 5s.

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been teaching the cello and piano for over 25 years running individual lessons with musicianship and theory classes for both children and adults. We homeschooled 5 children who have graduated from top level universities and continue to homeschool 3 children.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

- Where and with whom did you train?

I trained with Joan Dickson and Colin Horsley at the Royal College of Music and have trained under David Vinden - British Kodaly Academy and the Colourstrings Silvay Institute.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I belong to the British Kodaly Society , the Musician's network of Christian musicians, and play with the English Baroque Solosits, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Florilegium.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have students of many ages from 6 up to 50 . Several have gone on to music colleges to study and many have reached grade 8 .
