About Crystal
I am a certified OCT teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching and supporting students in Grades 7 to 12, with a strong focus on history and social studies. I bring a deep understanding of curriculum expectations, as well as effective strategies for developing critical thinking, analysis, and strong writing skills.
I am committed to creating a professional, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel confident exploring ideas and building their skills. I take a patient, student-centered approach and adapt my teaching to meet individual learning needs, including supporting diverse learners and students with IEPs.
My goal is to help students not only improve their understanding of history and social studies, but also develop confidence, independence, and a strong ability to think critically and communicate their ideas effectively.

Each session typically begins with a brief review, followed by guided discussion, analysis of sources or content, and structured practice such as writing or short answer responses. I support students step by step, helping them organize their thinking and express their ideas clearly.
What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex historical concepts into clear, relatable explanations while encouraging deeper thinking and curiosity. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their ideas, and building both knowledge and confidence.
